Safely Celebrating Halloween with Your Dog!
Halloween is almost here, and everyone at The Dog Buzz wanted to share some important tips for celebrating Halloween safely and enjoyably with your dog! We’ve listed our top tips below:
If you’re dressing your dog up this year, make sure to try their costume on ahead of time and check that the fit is safe and does not restrict your dog’s vision or breathing.
Keep candies and chocolates out of your dog’s reach–many of these can be toxic to dogs!
With the doorbell ringing and other loud noises that may occur on Halloween, nervous pups might do best in a separate room with some of their comfort items to help calm them.
Make sure your dog is microchipped and has up to date ID tags on them in case they were to escape out of the open door.
When decorating for Halloween, keep your decor pet friendly and be mindful of wires and candles that could harm your pet.
If you plan to take your dog outside on Halloween night, be aware of how your dog might react to seeing people in costumes– it may stress out and upset certain dogs.
Celebrating Halloween with your dog can be fun! Try making them pumpkin treats, visiting a pumpkin patch, or even hosting a dog Halloween party!
We wish you and your furry friends a safe and Happy Halloween!
